If We Impeach Bush, Just How Far Down the Line…

We already know that we don’t want Cheney or any of those who are in immediate successive positions to sit in the oval office.  I’m thinking that by time we move on down the line and eliminate, through the impeachment process, those who are as unacceptable as the present powers that be, we will probably wind up with a receptionist or a mail room clerk somewhere in Fargo, ND.

Disclaimer:  This is not intended to disparage mail clerks, receptionists, or Fargo, ND.  On the contrary, I’m just pointing out the lengths that may be needed to find someone honest and earnest enough to satisfy the disheartened people of the U.S.

  1. Ahhh, after Prez and VP, next in line is Speaker of the House.

  2. Yes, I’m aware of that. I believe you missed the point. The question was rhetorical, attempting to point out that the entire Bush administration is possibly so corrupt that in order to find someone who hasn’t been tainted by this administration we’d have to go pretty far on down the line.

  3. Bush has less than two years left. He’s a lame duck, and the worst is likely over. With all the time and resources it requires, I don’t think impeachment would do anything more than a political “screw you.”

Wouldn’t you rather see our new democratic congress try to do something useful? I’m still waiting for that, myself.

  4. It would be nice to see Bush and Cheney impeached, just on principle. It’s like being slapped in the face to have them in the White House. Does anyone still believe that since we live in a democratic country where justice prevails no matter what level of government you have reached, justice should be served right to the White House’s front door? Impeach! I can’t stand the idea of them getting away with this.

  5. Stephen,
I agree with you, the process of impeachment would probably be longer than the remaining term. And of course it would be nice to see congress step up to the plate.

My post was just a sarcastic comment pointing out that if we were to impeach, and not stop with the president, by the time we got through all the crooks and liars we would be left with non-politicians…just your average person, which might be a good thing.

  6. I don’t care if impeachment takes three decades. I want all the crooks and liars brought to justice, for the more than 3,500 US soldiers who died and the more than 200,000 innocent Iraqis and Afghanis who were slaughtered.

Of course, I’d settle for shipping them to Iraq (whether or not we’ve already withdrawn), but you know that already, Honjii. =)

  7. Oh, I see what you mean, and I completely agree. They’re all crooks!

  8. We are with OpEdna! Criminals need to be brought to justice! We don´t think impeachment is the way to go though, we think they need to be put on trial for all the crimes they committed and send to jail for the rest of their pathetic lives!!!
