Jehovah’s Witnesses – really bad at math?

Who hasn’t had a leisurely weekend interrupted by a group of overly dressed people selling their brand of door-to-door religion. I am always befuddled that no matter how hot the summer day, they are always clad in the warmest of clothing. Suits for both men and women, stockings on women (which are incredibly uncomfortable in hot weather) and children dressed for an Easter parade. It doesn’t matter how far off the beaten path you live (as I do) they will find you.

I’ve had various forms of fun with them, as they’ve disturbed my peace and trespassed onto my property over the years. At one point I kept a stack of pamphlets from the American Atheist Society near the door to hand them as they give me their booklet. If they’d had a cross, like the ones used, in movies, to ward off vampires, they would have used it at the sight of my literature. Hey if you’re going to force yours on me, at least have the courtesy to read mine. On a few occasions I’ve seen them coming and answered the door au-naturale, that usually gets rid of them in a hurry. But I usually just get angry, and let them know. What right, I ask, do you have to drive onto my property, uninvited, and disturb me? I threaten, get mean, posture, yell, all in the hopes they will put me on their version of the do-not-call-list. They are, however, relentless.

I learned an interesting fact about these people the other day that makes me wonder why they are so insistent on selling their religion, like vacuum salesmen, door-to-door. According to their belief there is a set number of places in heaven, 144,000 to be exact. That being the case wouldn’t you think they would try to keep it on the down-low?

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that exactly 144,000 faithful Christians will be resurrected to heaven to spend eternity with God as spirit beings. According to the Witnesses, the first of the 144,000 were resurrected as spirit beings in 1918 and others who die after 1918 are immediately resurrected to heaven when they die.^[8]^[9] Nearly 11,000 Witnesses worldwide—an increase of more than 2,000 since 1995^[10]—claim to be of the anointed “remnant” of the 144,000.^[11] This “remnant” is considered to constitute the faithful and discreet slave of Matthew 24:45 and Luke 12:42, with teaching authority over Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide. In practice, all doctrinal and organizational decisions are made by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which is said to represent that “slave class”.^[12]^[13]

Pastor Mike’s atheist registry – shades of Nazi Germany

Putting Atheists on a “National Registry” – What Say YOU? by Pastor Mike This made me physically sick when I read it. Here is yet another illustration of good christian love and tolerance for one’s fellow-man.

Pastor Mike lists his reasons (as if there would be any good ones) for wanting to create his atheist registry, but the subtext, as I read it, is to make atheists easy to spot should one feel the pressing need to commit a hate crime. I assume that in Pastor Mike’s twisted fantasy world, atheists would be issued an identifying arm band upon registration. What’s next, Pastor Mike, free train rides for atheists? Pastor Mike, you are one twisted motherfucker.

Why do many atheists hold a hatred toward a creator they say doesn’t exist? How can you hate something you claim doesn’t exist?

Brothers and Sisters , I have been seriously considering forming a ( Christian ) grassroots type of organization to be named “The Christian National Registry of Atheists” or something similar . I mean , think about it . There are already National Registrys for convicted sex offenders , ex-convicts , terrorist cells , hate groups like the KKK , skinheads , radical Islamists , etc..

This type of “National Registry” would merely be for information purposes . To inform the public of KNOWN ( i.e., self-admitted) atheists . For example , let’s say you live in Colorado Springs , Colorado , you could simply scroll down ( from the I-Net site /Blog ) I would have , to the State of Colorado , and then when you see “Colorado Springs” , you will see the names of all the self-admitted atheist(s) who live there ( e.g., if an atheist’s name happened to be “Phil Small” ) . The individual’s physical address , and other known personal information would NOT be disclosed ( though , perhaps a photo could be ) .

Now , many (especially the atheists ) , may ask “Why do this , what’s the purpose ?” Duhhh , Mr. Atheist , for the same purpose many States put the names and photos of convicted sex offenders and other ex-felons on the I-Net – to INFORM the public ! I mean , in the City of Miramar , Florida , where I live , the population is approx. 109,000 . My family and I would sure like to know how many of those 109,000 are ADMITTED atheists ! Perhaps we may actually know some . In which case we could begin to witness to them and warn them of the dangers of atheism . Or perhaps they are radical atheists , whose hearts are as hard as Pharaoh’s , in that case , if they are business owners , we would encourage all our Christian friends , as well as the various churches and their congregations NOT to patronize them as we would only be “feeding” Satan .

Frankly , I don’t see why anyone would oppose this idea – including the atheists themselves ( unless of course , they’re actually ashamed of their atheist religion , and would prefer to stay in the ‘closet.’ ) .

Anyway , my brothers and sisters , it’s something I would like to get your input on , as well as any other ideas or suggestions you may have along these lines . As Christians ,we CAN make a difference if we network together in fellowship , as well as seek guidance and advice from the Holy Spirit .
