Happy Halloween!! You’ve been Mooned!!

One rule to this game….
You can NOT get someone who has already gotten you!
Now…
go out there and get as many people as you can,
before they get you!
I got you first! and you can’t get me back!

Undercover Republican

A few months ago I decided if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em…and screw things up from the inside, or at least find out what they’re really up to.  That’s when I thought it would be a good idea to volunteer to work for McCain.  Email, offering my services to the McCain campaign went unanswered.  I made several phone calls to the McCain Campaign HQ saying I wanted to do what I can to help get McCain elected.  Each time I was told someone would call me back, no one ever did.

Their lack of need for willing volunteers alarmed me.  I wondered why?  Do they know something we don’t know, like plans are already underway, by the republican party, to steal yet another election?  I sincerely hope not and if that be the case will we ever know?

Not being one to give up easily I have hatched a new devious plot plan.  Those who have voted early are being urged to work on election day by giving rides to people, who need them, so they can vote.  So to all those who have already voted, put a sign on the side of your car, van, SUV, etc that says something like, “All Aboard to Vote for McCain”.  If you can afford it, rent a bus (though if you can afford to rent a bus you’re probably really are voting for McCain).

When your vehicle is crammed as full as a clown car with gullible eager McCain voters get yourself lost way out in the country.  Then as you try (this is where the ability to fake sincerity will come in handy) to frantically find your way, damn your bad luck, run out of gas, have your battery die, have four flat tires, or find some other way to be at the mercy of your disabled vehicle which will be miraculously drivable only after the polls have closed.

DISCLAIMER:  The above ideas, taken from the Republican Party Election Playbook, are for entertainment purposes only and not to be taken seriously or to be construed as a suggestion that anyone actually partake in such GOP-like activities, because that would just be WRONG!

Don’t Let the Republicans Steal Another Election

From The Nation:

Protect This Election

Not so long ago, when Karl Rove was still dreaming of a permanent Republican majority based on his “50 percent plus one” model for fighting and winning elections, 2008 was shaping up as possibly the dirtiest election season yet.

The plan was straightforward: to use every legislative and executive lever available to the GOP to suppress the votes of minorities, students, the poor, the transient and the elderly; and to denounce any attempt by the other side to level the playing field as a monstrous exercise in systemic voter fraud.

A lot of pieces of that plan are still in place and could still pose a threat to the integrity of the November 4 elections if any one of them–a crucial Senate race, say, if not also the race for the presidency–turns out to be remotely close. continue reading

Oh the Hypocrisy! Let’s Compare Notes

Obama, according to the McCain and Palin crowd, is a terrorist because he had some professional associations with a man who was accused but not convicted (granted due to a technicality) of terrorist activities when Obama was eight years old.  Other prominent public figures, including republicans also had the same association with Ayers as Obama.  None of that matters, right?

McCain used to pal around with G. Gordon Liddy who is a convicted felon.  McCain was an adult and fully aware of Liddy’s activities.

How close are McCain and Liddy? At least as close as Obama and Ayers appear to be. In 1998, Liddy’s home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator’s campaigns–including $1,000 this year.

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as “an old friend,” and McCain sounded like one. “I’m proud of you, I’m proud of your family,” he gushed. “It’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.”

Obama has been associated with Acorn a bad thing?

McCain has been associated with Acorn, not a bad thing?  Don’t believe it, google it.  Here’s just one to get you started,  McCain Attending an Acorn Rally.

McCain was one of the Keating 5.  Here’s an excerpt, read the full article at the preceding link.

John McCain admitted to intentionally filing false income tax returns to defraud the IRS by not claiming thousands of dollars in gifts McCain and his family received from Charles Keating and Keating’s company. Years later, when the IRS noticed Keating’s company had written off the gifts to McCain as business expenses, McCain fessed up and admitted filing false returns and made a “donation” to the U.S. Treasury to cover the amount he defrauded American tax payers. (Committing tax fraud is one of the least offensive things John McCain has done over his career, but this article just focuses on his role in the Keating Five, and the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal of the late 1980’s-early 1990’s). McCain also leaked information about the Keating Five to the press multiple times in an effort to appear above the other Senators in the scandal. A 1989 Phoenix New Times article summed it up best with their title – McCain: The Most Reprehensible of the Keating Five.

Sarah Palin smirks smugly as she insinuates Obama is a terrorist, a socialist (a word I don’t think she knows the definition of), and anti-American, as people in the crowd yell “kill him” among other things.  What does it say about her character that she allowed this to go on?  Palin might believe that Obama is a socialist but a psychologist friend of mine believe Pallin is a sociopath.  See the similarity in the two words?

Obama has not stooped to the level of calling Palin anti-American even though she’s married to a guy who has said he hates America and belongs to a group who wants Alaska to secede from the United States.  Nor has he called Palin anti-American for attending and speaking at meetings with her husband.

Palin is under investigation in her home state, and has been accused of all sorts of misconduct and abuses while in office.

Yet all I hear is bad stuff about Obama and Biden and how wonderful McCain Palin are.  What are we a nation of nitwits?  I can only hope it’s like the moral majority that turned out to only be louder than the rest but not really a majority.

This has gotten to be such nasty business that like the airlines, polling places are going to have to provide barf bags with each ballot.

WARNING Don’t Vote a Straight Ticket

Read the entire article at  snopes.com: Voting a Straight Ticket

For those who normally vote “Straight Democratic”, please pay close attention!!!!! I was informed this weekend by a group of Obama volunteers that when voting for the presidential candidate this November, you have to make sure you punch Barack’s name first, then proceed to punch “Straight Democratic” or else the vote for the president won’t count. I’m not sure if any of you are aware of this, but we know they won’t tell us this at the polls. Please make sure you inform others.

I am a “big time” Democrat and an informed voter who recently volunteered
for Barack Obama in New Mexico this past week.  As an informed voter, I
questioned the message sent below and decided to verify what I already
know.

If you punch Barack Obama for president and then punch Straight Ticket you
will NEGATE your vote. Again, you will negate your vote. If you do not believe me, please call the Harris County Democratic Party office at
713-802-0085.

Tell all your friends to vote either STRAIGHT TICKET or PUNCH EACH DEMOCRAT individually. Do not double vote, it negates your ballot and it
will be thrown out.

America is the greatest country ever.  You don’t even have to be famous like GW Bush or Sarah Palin to show the public what a troglodyte you are.

Here are just a few, take your pick.

Sarah Palin makes me sick, and so do the idiots who think she’s wonderful, refreshing, honest, down home, and all that other crap the intellectually challenged keep spouting about her.  WTF is the matter with the people in this country?  She’s an ignorant, ruthless, bitch who seemingly learned not much in life, other than how to get what she wants at any cost.  I read a book called, The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout.  Stout says one in four people are sociopaths.  I’m pretty sure Palin is one.

Hypocrite would also apply.  Lately she’s been trashing Obama over past ties to Ayers but she’s married to a guy who has said he hates the USA and is a member of an organization that wants Alaska to secede from the union.  Palin has spoken at one or more of their meetings so I guess we can say she has terrorist ties couldn’t we?  Is she sleeping with the enemy?  When people at a rally yelled (about Obama) terrorist, traitor, kill him; Palin didn’t insist they stop.  She merely smirked (obviously pleased).  What does that say about her character?  Again that word sociopath comes to mind.  If McCain’s mental acuity was ever in doubt I think his choice of running mates proves he’s not playing with a full deck.

Gosh darn it she’s such a pistol by golly, that at the vice presidential debate she wasn’t going to answer the questions asked of her… she just went on and told us what she wanted to talk about.  I suppose the McCain camp gave her a list of five or six talking points to memorize and told her to try and use them where most appropriate, and wink a lot.  Wink she did, you betcha!

Speaking of winking, I noticed at the town hall debate between Obama and McCain that McCain blinked a lot.  Excessive blinking is possibly a way the body can betray you when you LIE.  So now we have the possiblility of Winky and Blinky taking over for King George the Stupid and Shooter.

Robert McElvaine at OpEd News had this to say:

We already knew that she was stunningly ignorant. Now she has shown herself to be shockingly evil.

John McCain is someone who has totally lost his moral compass (Sarah Palin may never have had one). He and everyone in his campaign have become what Mrs. Palin’s prototype, Spiro Agnew, called (in William Safire’s words), “nattering nabobs of negativism.”

We have long known that many Republicans will stoop to anything to win. Karl Rove’s 2004 success in depicting a man wounded in the Vietnam War as an anti-American coward and Rove’s own chickenhawk president as a brave, patriotic American was disgusting.

But what the McCain campaign is doing now, principally through its winking, nose-crinkling Spiro Agnew/Dick Nixon, has gone beyond the lowest levels of Lee Atwater and Rove.

The patently false charges linking Barack Obama with terrorists not only tear the country apart, but are certain to lead some unhinged people to draw the logical conclusion. Some dupes of these reprehensible statements by Palin and McCain are going to think that a patriot must act to stop this “terrorist” from taking over the presidency.

Their shouts have already been heard from the mobs at Palin and McCain rallies this week: “Traitor!” “Terrorist!” “Kill him!” Mrs. Palin nods and winks.

When does character assassination cross the line and begin to encourage physical assassination?

Were, God forbid, the unthinkable to happen, it would not be unreasonable to charge Sarah Palin and John McCain as accessories before the fact.

They would rather lose a country than lose an election.

We knew John McCain. He was, we thought, a friend of ours. And you, McCain version 08, are no John McCain.

Have you at long last, sir, no sense of decency?

If you do, stop this evil line of campaign lies before it’s too late.

{Historian Robert S. McElvaine is Elizabeth Chisholm Professor of Arts & Letters at Millsaps College. His latest book is Grand Theft Jesus: The Hijacking of Religion in America
